Nala Base is a training and development initiative for girls and young women aged 6 to 21, especially those from vulnerable and underserved communities. We use performing arts as the foundation, and combine it with mentorship, education support, and practical creative skills so participants can grow with confidence, discipline, and agency.
To empower young girls by providing access to structured performing arts training, mentorship, and creative skill development, while supporting education continuity and long-term personal and economic preparedness.
Nala Base as a strong pathway for skilled dancers and a hub for empowered, confident women.
For Chanella Djamilla, dance is more than movement
—it’s a way to feel, heal, connect, and create stages where stories come alive.
Her artistry has led her to major stages across Rwanda and beyond, including performances at Move Afrika with Kendrick Lamar, the 2024 BAL Opening Ceremony with Adekunle Gold, and the Trace Awards alongside icons like Davido and Yemi Alade.
She now channels her experience into building opportunities for more girls and women to step into their power through talent development, financial literacy, education support, and job creation across the continent.
